Sweden’s main scholarship for international master’s students is the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP). It covers full tuition and pays SEK 12,000 a month for living costs, plus a one-time travel grant of SEK 15,000.
What It Covers
Tuition: paid in full, directly to your university.
Living allowance: SEK 12,000 a month.
Travel grant: SEK 15,000, paid once. Applicants from a few countries receive SEK 10,000.
Not included: insurance. Ask your university what cover it provides.
Who Should Apply, and Who Should Not
SISGP is for people who already work. You must show work experience and leadership experience, and only citizens of a list of eligible countries can apply. If you are a fresh graduate with no work history, this scholarship is not for you yet.
The work experience rule is the most misunderstood part. Read how to calculate the SI work experience requirement.
Apply in the Right Order
You must first apply to an eligible master’s programme through University Admissions in Sweden. Only then can you apply for the scholarship. Full steps are in our Swedish Institute scholarship guide.

Is SEK 12,000 enough to live in Sweden?
