There is no Eiffel Scholarship nomination letter that you send or receive. A French university picks its own Eiffel candidates in an internal round, then submits their files to Campus France by 6 January 2027. To be put forward, you apply through that university’s Eiffel procedure before its internal deadline. The earliest one we found is 29 October 2026, at Université Paris Cité.

What an Eiffel Nomination Actually Is

Only French higher education institutions can submit Eiffel applications. Your university fills in Campus France’s online form on a platform called SMApply. If you help fill in parts of it, the university must remove you from the form before it submits. The university also explains how it will welcome you and sends Campus France a signed list of all its candidates.

Each university can submit up to 40 files per field, separately for master’s and PhD. There is no limit on how many awards one university can win.

Only one university can submit you. If two do, all your applications are rejected.

Who Should Not Ask for a Nomination

  • You were refused Eiffel before at the same level and were not on the reserve list. You can’t apply again at that level, even through another university or in another field.
  • You want a master’s award and you are already studying in France.
  • You hold French nationality.
  • Your programme is outside the seven Eiffel fields, is taught online, or is a work-study programme.
  • You are over the age limit: 29 for a master’s, 35 for a PhD.

How to Find a University That Takes Part

  1. Search Google for “bourse Eiffel 2027” plus the university’s name. Most pages are in French. Look for “appel à candidatures” (call), “date limite” (deadline) and “volet master” or “volet doctorat”.
  2. Check the university’s international relations page. For a PhD, also check the doctoral school (école doctorale) page.
  3. No 2027 page yet? Email the international office with two questions: will it submit Eiffel candidates in your field for 2027, and what is the internal deadline?
  4. Check that your programme is a national master’s or engineering degree. A Master of Science counts only if it has the CGE label.

Not every school takes part every year. Sciences Po, for example, is not submitting Eiffel candidates in 2027.

How Universities Run Their Round: 2027 Examples

  • Université Paris Cité: apply on its MoveON portal by 29 October 2026 (master’s) or 2 November 2026 (PhD), 23:59 Paris time.
  • Paris-Saclay, master’s: contact the head of your chosen programme by 26 November 2026. You will receive an internal answer on 7 December 2026.
  • Paris-Saclay, PhD: apply on the ADUM platform by 6 November 2026. In 2027, it supports international cotutelle projects only. Answer by 10 December 2026.
  • Aix-Marseille: master’s through its online contact form with one PDF by 11 November 2026; PhD by email to the international office by 25 November 2026, with your thesis supervisor in copy. Both close at 09:00 Paris time.
  • Toulouse School of Management: master’s only, 26 October to 16 November 2026.

Pakistan is 4 hours ahead of Paris in winter, so 23:59 in Paris on 29 October is 03:59 on 30 October in Pakistan.

You don’t always need to be admitted first. At Paris-Saclay, the normal master’s admission round opens in February 2027, after the Eiffel round. See all the university deadlines we checked.

What the Eiffel Jury Scores (Out of 40)

After your university submits you, seven groups of experts, one for each field, score your file. These points come from Campus France’s score sheets for the 2026 session, which its 2027 page still links.

How to Get Nominated, Step by Step for Eiffel Scholarship

1.Find an Eligible Programme

Choose a Master’s or doctoral programme in France that matches your academic background and falls within the Eiffel Scholarship’s eligible fields.

2.Check the University's Eiffel Procedure

Visit the university’s official website and look for its Eiffel Scholarship or international admissions page. Check how the university handles nominations and note its internal deadline.

3.Apply for Admission

Submit your application for the chosen programme using the university’s required application system. Some universities may consider Eiffel as part of the admission process, while others may request additional documents.

4.Request Eiffel Consideration

Tell the university that you want to be considered for the Eiffel Scholarship. Follow its instructions for submitting your CV, transcripts, motivation letter, or other required documents.

5.Wait for the University's Decision

The university reviews your profile and decides whether to support your Eiffel application. Some universities may also conduct an internal interview.

6.The University Submits Your Application

If the university selects you, it prepares and submits your Eiffel application to Campus France. You do not submit the Eiffel application yourself.

7.Campus France Makes the Final Selection

Campus France reviews the applications submitted by French higher education institutions and communicates the results after the national selection process.

Common Mistakes

  • Waiting for 6 January 2027. Your university’s deadline is weeks earlier.
  • Asking two universities to submit you.
  • Sending the same long email to 20 professors. A short, specific email gets answered.
  • Choosing a programme outside the seven fields, or a field that does not match your degree.
  • For a PhD at Paris-Saclay, applying without a cotutelle project.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can research and contact different universities while deciding where to study. However, only one French higher education institution should submit your Eiffel application.
