Hungary’s Stipendium Hungaricum is one of the few European scholarships open to bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students alike. It covers tuition and helps with housing, which makes it one of the most accessible full scholarships for students from Pakistan, India, Africa and Central Asia.
What You Receive
LevelMonthly stipend
Bachelor’s and master’sHUF 43,700 (about EUR 110)
PhD, first four semestersHUF 140,000 (about EUR 355)
PhD, last four semestersHUF 180,000 (about EUR 460)
All levels also get free tuition, either a dormitory place or HUF 40,000 a month for housing, and health insurance.
Be Realistic About the Money
HUF 43,700 a month is not enough to live on by itself. Bring savings, or plan for part-time work where your visa allows it. Students who understand this before arriving have a much easier first year.
How to Apply
You apply online and also through the official partner in your home country. In Pakistan, that partner is HEC. The deadline for the last intake was 15 January 2026, and it usually falls in mid-January.
